The begginings
Well, seeing as this is my first blog entry I thought I would start by introducing myself and my business – PHOTOGRAVIK.
My name is Vikki Calvert, I’m now 29 years of age (aah!), and I started PHOTOGRAVIK in 2009. I have always been a fan of great photography, inspired by wildlife images in particular. My Dad would bring home copies of National Geographic for me when I was a child. I couldn’t understand the text but I would spend ages just looking through the pictures! I was always very creative at school - rubbish at maths and physics but great at making pretty pictures, so when I left for college I opted for the stuff I was good at – art, media and best of all, photography. Still inspired by wildlife imagery and the greatest man in the world (Sir David Attenborough, who seemed to be on the screen whenever I switched on the television), I decided my ideal job after getting my qualifications, would combine the two things I loved most – photography and nature, therefore I would become an underwater photographer!
